The efficiency of power cable rating is paramount in preventing overloads and system failures. It also plays a significant role in cost reduction by eliminating the need for cable oversizing and inefficient installation methods. Factors such as cable design, installation methodology, and environmental conditions greatly influence the cable rating. Therefore, an accurate modeling tool is indispensable for making informed decisions in any project.
This webinar will explain you the capabilities of CYMCAP, a tool designed to assist you in all your cable modeling projects and ampacity rating needs. Whether you’re new to CYMCAP or looking to refresh your knowledge, this webinar will provide valuable insights to enhance your project outcomes.

The IEC has outlined a methodology for calculating the ampacity rating of two circuits crossing. However, this approach has its limitations—it only applies to two circuits, requires a minimum angle of 15 degrees, and does not account for changes in circuit depth or bending. Until now, any complex scenarios affected by these limitations required the use of Finite Element modeling software.
Enter CYMCAP 9.0, the first software to offer a module specifically designed for 3D modeling and temperature rating of multiple buried circuits. But that’s not all—CYMCAP 9.0 also enhances the methodology for cables in ventilated tunnels by introducing multi-circuit designs.
George Anders and Camilo Apraez will delve into the theory and innovative thinking behind these groundbreaking advancements.
